About Fernhollow
Fernhollow started as a hobby that got out of hand. Our head grower, Wren Calloway, ran out of windowsills, built a small greenhouse, and began selling the extra plants to neighbors. A few years later the greenhouse is bigger, but the idea is the same: grow a short list of plants well, and tell people honestly how to look after them.
We keep the range small on purpose. Every plant we sell is one we have grown for years and know how to keep alive in an ordinary home. If a plant needs a conservatory or a greenhouse to be happy, we do not sell it as a houseplant.
There are four of us. Wren grows, Teo Lindqvist answers questions and handles orders, and two part-time packers make sure every plant leaves wrapped and watered correctly. Wren and Teo also write the Fernhollow Journal, mostly in answer to questions we get asked more than once.
