Pots and Planters
A pot does more than look good. It decides how fast the soil dries, and that matters more to a plant's health than almost anything else you control. We stock three kinds, and every one has a drainage hole, because a pot without one is the fastest way to rot a plant's roots.
- Terracotta Pot: unglazed clay that breathes and dries the soil quickly. Best for plants that like to dry out between drinks.
- Self-Watering Pot: a reservoir in the base keeps the soil evenly moist. Best for thirsty plants and busy owners.
- Hanging Planter: a lightweight pot with a drip tray and a cord, for trailing plants and empty ceilings.
Not sure which to pick? Match the pot to the plant, not the other way round. A plant that likes dry soil wants the pot that dries fastest, and a plant that sulks whenever it dries out wants the pot that holds moisture longest. Each pot page lists the plants we pair it with in our own greenhouse.
